At 7:00 pm you will be transfered from your hotel to the Hanoi train station for boarding at 8:35 pm. You will be in a shared AC soft sleeper cabins of 4 to travel North to Lao Cai town. The train arrives in Lao Cai at approximately 5:00 am where your Sapa Pathfinder Travel guide will welcome you. Look for the "Sapa Pathfinder Travel" sign and your name as you exit the train station. Then take a morning drive through the clouds by car / van to Sapa (about 1.5 hours). Upon arrival in Sapa you will be taken to Fansipan View Hotel for a morning shower & breakfast, Early check in may be possible if your room is available, then we will help you prepare for the trek as detailed below:
- Overnight on the train
Day 1: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai- Sapa |
Transfer 6 km by jeep or van. Followed by a 2km walk down to Lao Chai village, and continue a further 3 km to Ta Van village where the Dzay minority people live.Here you will enjoy lunch provided for you in a local family home, all for you to discover their daily life, works and special custom, enjoy landscapes… After lunch we will trek through bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai village - home of the red Dzao. Nearby we will rest at a wonderful watter fall followed by a rattan bridge crossing taking us back to the Jeep for our return to Sapa. You will have free time untill your included dinner in Sapa Cuisine restaurant. After dinner the romantic town of Sapa is all yours to enjoy.

Day 2: Cat Cat & Sin Chai We will be walking down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village where the Black H’mong reside. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the remnants of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time. Enjoy picnic lunch by the riverside, and after lunch continue on for 3 km to Sin Chai, which is located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, also known as “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here we take in the beautiful picturesque view before returning to Sapa by Jeep/van. There will be some free time for you to find a local cafe or restaurant for dinner before being transferred to Lao Cai train station.
